The ultimate European road trip, according to data

Computer scientist and data analyst Randy Olson is known for using his data tinkering skills to answer big questions and calculate the ultimate strategy making life easier such by planning  a US road-trip map that tells us exactly where to go and how to see every important landmark in each of the 48 continental states.

Now Olson has performed the same calculations for organizing the ultimate European road trip.He used his algorithm to find the quickest driving route that would stop at a national natural landmark, national historic site, national park or national monument in all of the lower 48 states. The data analyst decided to pick the best places to stop in this journey from the 50 recommendations of a ‘’ Business Insider’’ article. The route covers 16,287 miles (26,211 kilometers) and ranges from Lapland to Istanbul and from classic cities to gorgeous coastlines. It hits some of Europe’s most beautiful spots and major monuments as well as some must-seen spots. Only 45 of the 50 recommendations were used in his list, because a some of them were impossible to access by car. If you plan to use Olson’s route , it would take 14 days unstoppable driving, and that’s not including breaks for sleeping, eating, or stepping out of the car to enjoy the places you’re visiting, or probably about three months if you want to drive comfortably. It will certainly be a trip you will always remember in your life that will give beautiful memories and experiences. You will have the opportunity to ski on the slopes at Innsbruck, Austria, explore Rome’s iconic landmarks such as Colloseum etc.
