I make a lot of pasta in my house. My husband is Italian, so we tend to eat a lot of pasta with various sauces. My kids love it and eat it all, so it’s often a go-to meal for us. I love that I can make the sauces ahead of time and have them ready in a pinch, but I hate how much time I have to spend waiting for my pot of pasta to boil.
According to Harold McGee, the author of Keys to Good Cooking, we can speed up our pasta-boiling by simply using our frying pan instead of that big pot of water. I’m not going to lie, I’m intrigued by this. Yet I’m thinking this would only work for smaller amounts of pasta…unless you had a really big frying pan.
Still, I like this easy cooking hack, and I just might try it out! Check out the video below and let me know if you’ve ever tried this, or if you think you might give it a go.
